NEXT WEEK: POST DIGITAL CULTURES, VERY NEOLUDIC SYMPOSIUM IN LOSANNA

Post Digital Cultures, 6-7.12.2013, Lausanne

RETHINKING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ART AND THE NEW MEDIA

The Federal Office of Culture (FOC) and Les Urbaines present Post Digital Cultures, a two day symposium held on December 6 and 7 2013 at Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne. The symposium will look at the state of contemporary creation within the digital context and the way it is understood and supported by the institutions.

Post Digital Cultures will provide an update on the current state of the digital creation, at a crucial time when the internet represents a global context of production anddistribution, rather than an artistic medium.

Extend the debate with a virtual museum
A virtual museum will be launched at the end of the symposium. In a first step, it will bring together a collection of donations from participants at the symposium. Then, curators and external institutions will be invited to expand the collection in new themes. This web platform, experimental in its vocation, aims at extending the debate beyond the symposium and will be active during one year.
